How to use Netty

Five minutes and it all makes sense. Read top to bottom, or jump straight to what you need.

First steps

How do I add a task?

  1. 1Open “Today” — that's the main list.
  2. 2Type the task in the box at the top. For example: “Call grandma”.
  3. 3Press “Add”. Done — it's on the list.

Finished a task?

  1. 1Tap the circle to the left of the task — it gets checked off.
  2. 2On a phone it's even easier: swipe the task left.

Not going to make it today?

  1. 1Swipe the task right — it moves to tomorrow.
  2. 2That's not failure, that's a plan. It comes back on its own.

Where do I start?

  1. 1Tap the star on your most important task.
  2. 2That's your focus: one main thing instead of ten at once.

What's the point?

  1. 1The goal of the day is an empty “Today” list.
  2. 2See “All done — get some rest”? The day is won.

Plan

A task for a specific day?

  1. 1Open the task — tap its name.
  2. 2Tap the status at the top left of the card and pick “Date”.
  3. 3Choose the day. The task shows up in “Today” by itself.

Afraid to forget?

  1. 1Add a time and a reminder in the task's card.
  2. 2Netty reminds you with a notification or an e-mail — your choice.

Task too big?

  1. 1Break it into steps: open the card and add a checklist.
  2. 2Tick the steps one by one — the big task melts away.

Just an idea for now?

  1. 1Give the task the “Idea” status.
  2. 2It won't clutter the list, and it won't get lost either.

Grow

Have a big goal?

  1. 1Open “Goals” and create yours — say, “Learn Spanish”.
  2. 2Add criteria: the parts the goal is made of.
  3. 3Tick the criteria and watch the goal fill up.

Building a habit?

  1. 1Open “Habits” and add yours — say, “Morning exercise”.
  2. 2Mark it every day and watch the streak grow. Don't break the chain!

Many tasks about one thing?

  1. 1Open “Projects” and create one — say, “Renovation”.
  2. 2Tasks live in columns: planned → in progress → done.

Together

Invite a friend?

  1. 1Open “People” and find them by name or e-mail.
  2. 2Or press “My invite link” and just send it over.

Working as a team?

  1. 1Open “Teams”, create yours and add people.
  2. 2A team has boards with cards — like projects, but shared.

Show a card to someone?

  1. 1Press the link icon on a card, a board or a team.
  2. 2A short link gets copied — send it to anyone.

What's new?

  1. 1The bell up top shows the number of new events.
  2. 2Assigned a task, got a comment — it's all there.
